The Road to Bliss Cathy Richardson Band's new CD The Road to Bliss has been nominated for a GRAMMY Award for Best Recording Package! The GRAMMY, is presented annually by the Recording Academy and is considered the most prestigious award. A GRAMMY is awarded by the Recording Academy's voting membership to honor excellence in the recording arts and sciences. It is truly a peer honor, awarded by and to artists and technical professionals for artistic or technical achievement, not sales or chart positions. Cathy Richardson and Chicago artist Bill Dolan art directed the elaborate CD package in an attempt to recreate the feel and experience of "album art" that they experienced growing up with vinyl LPs. The music of the Road to Bliss is garnering critical acclaim, as well, being recently added to the playlist of Chicago's WXRT Radio and featured in Time Out New York's Gift Guide 2003. |

Snake Camp "A sublime storyteller, Richardson wears her tortured heart on her musical sleeve, carefully weaving idealism and realism throughout mesmerizing melodies."
"Cathy Richardson finds her soul and takes it on one great musical ride. Her once straight-ahead
songwriting style moves in a fresher, rootsier
direction - gathering, as it rolls along, bits
of gospel, jazz, country and blues... Three Stars and 1/2" |

Fools on a Tandem
"... sensitive, introspective music that is tastefuly arranged - leaving plenty of room for her sometimes delicate and, other times, gutsy vocals."
"Richardson has a gravelly no-nonsense vocal attack ... complimented by simple instrumentation that is smartly focused on tight acoustic and electric guitar interplay" |
